Four new cases of primary choriocarcinoma arising in the placenta during a seemingly normal gestation were studied at the Trophoblastic Disease Center of Northwestern University. BACKGROUND: Anomalous origin of the coronary artery from the contralateral coronary sinus is a rare coronary anomaly associated with sudden death. The inter-arterial course is most closely associated with sudden death, but it has been suggested that the presence of an intramural segment of a right anomalous coronary is associated with more symptoms and therefore may be an important criterion for intervention in these patients.

BACKGROUND: Laparoscopic surgery may be a suitable treatment for gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) in terms of oncological feasibility and being minimally invasive. Reduced-size hepatic transplantation (RSHT) was developed to alleviate the mortality resulting from the scarcity of suitable cadaveric grafts. Quantitative measurements of surface areas of corneocytes from the desquamating portion of psoriatic lesions in 11 patients showed that psoriatic corneocytes were much smaller (27%) than corneocytes from noninvolved normal skin in the same patients. Corneocyte surface areas gradually increased in size following one intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide suspension and were almost normal approximately 6 weeks after treatment. These findings support other observations suggesting that rapidly proliferating epidermal cells have smaller surface areas than normal cells.

Cases of complete traumatic amputation of the auricle successfully treated by reimplantation are rare. The author used the Baudet technique: it consist of suppression of the skin cover of the posterior aspect of the mutilated fragment and creation through the cartilage of appropriately sized and arranged windows. This mutilated fragment is then sutured by its anterior edge to the remaining portion of the auricle and by its peripheral rim to a posteriorly based mastoid flap.

Twenty-nine specimens of the extraosseous portion of the human endolymphatic sac (ES) were serially sectioned longitudinally.
