BACKGROUND: Nephrogenic Adenoma (NA) is a rare lesion of the urinary tract, considered a metaplastic response to chronic inflammation, trauma or immunosuppression.
METHODS AND RESULTS: We report two cases of NA arising in the urinary bladder of patients with previous history of recurrent urinary tract infections due to neuropsychiatric disease. Pathological examination of the lesions, resected by transurethral (TUR) management, revealed a papillary proliferation of tubules and cysts lined by cuboidal to low-columnar cells without atypia. We report a case of extramedullary myeloid cell tumor of the urinary bladder in an elderly male with a three year history of myelodysplastic syndrome (refractory anemia with excess blasts), noninvasive papillary transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder, and in situ transitional cell carcinoma of the left ureter. BACKGROUND: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm described initially in visceral pleura but can occasionally involve other sites such as the urinary tract. Concurrent primary renoparenchymal or renal pelvic neoplasms of different histology in the same kidney appear to be unusual. We herein report on a 75-year-old man in whom a tiny renal adenoma, a transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis, ipsilateral ureter papillomas and transitional carcinoma of the urinary bladder were found. The clinicopathologic findings of this patient as well as the oncogenesis of renal tumours are discussed.

Iatrogenic injury to the urinary tract during colorectal surgery can be a source of significant morbidity. Urachal mucinous tumors are rare neoplasms with behaviour that can range from relatively benign to malignancy that can spread distantly or throughout the peritoneum as pseudomyxoma peritonei or peritoneal carcinomatosis. Here we describe a unique case of urachal mucinous cystic tumor of low malignant potential confined to an intact cyst at the dome of the urinary bladder, without rupture or peritoneal spread. A fibroepithelial polyp is a benign neoplasm that occurs throughout the urinary tract. In children less than 18 years old only 12 cases of upper tract polyps have been reported. We report 2 additional pediatric cases of upper tract fibroepithelial polyps and a rare case of a fibroepithelial polyp in the bladder. At 2 to 7-year followup there has been no recurrence or further development of the polyps. A benign natural history and conservative therapy should be emphasized when fibroepithelial polyps of the upper or lower urinary tracts are encountered in children.

Urachal carcinoma is a rare neoplasm of the urinary bladder. We present two cases. Case 1, a male patient, noted urinary frequency and micturition pain for two months. The surgical specimen from a partial cystectomy represented a transitional cell carcinoma that developed from a urachal diverticulum. Case 2, a female patient, had a long history of infraumbilical mass without umbilical discharge or urinary symptom.
