OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of Zhuhuang Frost (ZHF), an external preparation of Chinese herbal medicine, on level of hydroxy-proline (Hyp) in surgical wound after anal operation.
METHODS: Fifty postoperational patients after low position simple operation of anal fistula were randomly divided into two groups and treated with ZHF and Mayinglong Musk hemorrhoidal paste (MMHP) respectively.
