PRL is an anterior pituitary hormone that, along with GH and PLs, forms a family of hormones that probably resulted from the duplication of an ancestral gene. The aim of this study was to determine if changes in LH, FSH, PRL, and testosterone (T) secretion occur in blind prepubertal boys. Plasma prolactin, progesterone, and 17 beta-estradiol were measured by radioimmunoassay in 58 patients with complete moles, 17 patients with partial moles, and the same number of maturity-matched pregnant control subjects.
