BACKGROUND: Precise surgical procedures are critical to improving the survival outcomes for colon cancer patients. Currently, there is no dedicated intraoperative navigation system available for performing precise surgery.
OBJECTIVE: We aimed to innovate an artificial intelligence-based model for identifying anatomical structures and surgical instruments during laparoscopic left hemicolectomy, to assist surgeons in performing the surgery with greater precision.

RATIONALE: Percutaneous penetration of foreign bodies into the lung is exceptionally rare, with most reported cases involving entry through natural orifices such as the oral cavity or respiratory tract.
PATIENT CONCERNS: A 17-year-old adolescent was incidentally found to have a metallic sewing needle embedded in the right lung during imaging evaluation for unrelated symptoms. The foreign body had been retained for 9 years following a childhood needle-prick injury.
DIAGNOSES: Imaging confirmed the presence of an intrapulmonary metallic foreign body consistent with a sewing needle.

STUDY OBJECTIVE: For patients with vulvar cancer requiring inguinal lymph node resection, traditional approaches involve separate incisions [1-4]. This study introduces a novel single-incision vulvar approach that enables deep inguinal node resection with comparable outcomes, reduced surgical trauma, and a simplified operative pathway. This video aims to present the approach and further investigate its safety and efficacy.

We investigated the efficacy of subxiphoid thoracoscopic thymectomy in patients with myasthenia gravis. The data of 37 consecutive cases were reviewed. 2 cases of postoperative myasthenia gravis crisis and 4 cases of residual mediastinal fat tissue were recorded. Moreover, 29 patients presented the neurological outcomes, and complete stable remission was achieved in 5 (17.2%) cases. Subxiphoid thymectomy is technically feasible. High-quality evidence is warranted before this approach can be recommended.

RATIONALE: Pulmonary blastoma is an extremely rare and highly aggressive tumor. Only a few hundred cases of pulmonary blastoma have been reported. In other cases, a definitive diagnosis is often made through surgical resection.
