MATERIAL AND METHODS: Robot-assisted operations for non-organ retroperitoneal tumors were performed in 20 patients. The biggest tumor's diameter was 160 mm, the smallest--32 mm, mean value was 79.1±37.8 mm. According to morphological investigation data lymphangioma was diagnosed in 4 (20%) patients, lipoma--in 3 (15%) cases, peritoneal cyst--in 2 (10%) patients. Solitary lymphatic node, teratoma, leiomyosarcoma, accessory stomach, bronchogenic cyst, adenogenous cancer, ureterocele, megaureter, schwannoma, leiomyoma, malignant paraganglioma were observed in 1 (5%) case respectively.

Robot-assisted annuloplasty using a mitral band has a major issue: suturing is time consuming because knot tying is performed mechanically under endoscopic view. We suture the mitral band to the native valve by running sutures using the V-Loc barbed suture nonabsorbable wound closure device (Covidien, Mansfield, MA) with 3-0 monofilament. BACKGROUND: Atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) accounts for up to 3 % of congenital cardiac defects, which is routinely repaired via median sternotomy. Minimally invasive approach such as endoscopic or robotic assisted repair for AVSD has not been reported in the literature. Treatment of laryngoceles is surgical resection, through an external approach for external laryngoceles and through an endoscopic approach for internal laryngoceles. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate for potential predictors of intraoperative conversion from robotic sacrocolpopexy (RSC) to open abdominal sacrocolpopexy.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: We identified 83 consecutive patients from 2002-2012 with symptomatic high-grade post-hysterectomy vaginal vault prolapse that underwent RSC. Multiple clinical variables including patient age, comorbidities (body-mass index [BMI], hypertension, diabetes mellitus, tobacco use), prior intra-abdominal surgery and year of surgery were evaluated for potential association with conversion.
