Askin tumor is a malignant small round cell tumor that originates from the thoracopulmonary region, usually observed in young subjects. We report a case of askin tumor in a 11 year-old men, who had in his past history a surgery for hydatid cyst of the liver, actually hospitalised for right pulmonary upper lobe mass of the lung. After resection of the mass, the pathological exam confirmed the diagnosis of primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET). From 1976 to 1989 the authors treated 21 infants and children with malignant tumors of the chest wall. The frequency and severity of urinary-bladder toxicity were determined retrospectively in a large series of childhood cancer patients treated with either pelvic irradiation and simultaneous cyclophosphamide or cylclophosphamide with extrapelvic irradiation. Of 50 patients who received the first combination, 17 (34%) developed urinary-bladder toxicity. Primary lymphoma of bone (PLB) accounts for 3% to 7% of primary neoplasms of bone and must be distinguished from more common bone tumors in the pediatric population such as osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, and other small round blue cell tumors. INTRODUCTION: ERG expression has been described as a frequent event in prostate cancer indicating poor prognosis and promoting oncogenesis. It has also been demonstrated in Ewing's sarcoma, acute myeloid leukemia and acute T-lymphoblastic leukemia but could not be found in other epithelial tumors, Hodgkin's or Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
