The influence of some additives, including metal ions, antioxidants, enzyme inhibitors and organic solvents, on the storage stability of four organophosphorus pesticides in cucumber samples were investigated. It was found that metal ions, including Al3+, Fe3+, and Co2+, increased the stability of dichlorvos, malathion, and chlorpyrifos. Conversely, Al3+, Fe3+, Fe2+, and Co2+ caused catalytic degradation of diazinon. BACKGROUND: Sweat, as an easily accessible bodily fluid, is enriched with a lot of physiological and health information. A portable and wearable sweat sensor is an important device for an on-body health monitoring. However, there are only few such devices to monitor sweat. We compared the structural properties of myosin subfragment 1 (S1) modified at both reactive SH-groups, SH1 (Cys707) and SH2 (Cys697), with the properties of unmodified S1 and SH1-modified S1. Water-sorption studies discriminate between passive (those containing Sn, Nb, and Ti) and reactive (those containing Zn and an alloy of CoCrMo) metal-resin composites. The reactive ones form hydrated oxides or hydroxides or both, in accord with a parabolic rate law. The nature of the chemical reaction is elucidated in two instances by analysis of the resultant gases.

Phosphine is an insecticide for the fumigation of grains, animal feed, and leaf-stored tobacco, and it was used as a rodenticide in bulk grain stores. Phosphine poisoning may occur after accidental inhalation of phosphine, sometimes leading to death. Intercalations of mercaptocarboxylic acid and dithiodicarboxylic acid in Mg-Al layered double hydroxide and their adsorption properties for heavy metal ions were examined. During the intercalation of mercaptocarboxylic acids, mercapto group was oxidized, and the corresponding dithiodicarboxylic acids were intercalated in the interlayer space of Mg-Al layered double hydroxide. The intercalation compounds adsorbed mercury and silver ions effectively, whereas there was no adsorption of copper ion practically.
