A case of familial adenomatosis coli with large intra-abdominal desmoid tumors is described. The patient initially complained of an abdominal mass, which was diagnosed as a desmoid tumor after surgical resection. Further examinations revealed numerous polyps of the colon which were histologically diagnosed as adenomas. Despite intensive medical therapy, the desmoid tumors rapidly increased in size and number, and resulted in abscess and cavity formation that involved the ileum. A patient is reported with an extremely unusual clinical presentation comprising painful subungual glomus tumors, hemangioma-like skin lesions of the trunk, and nodular lesions of the finger joints. We report the case of an 82-year-old male patient with a malignant mesenchymoma. The tumor arose from the parietal peritoneum closely attached to the ascending colon. It consisted of a larger liposarcomatous and a smaller leiomyosarcomatous component which was demonstrated by immunohistochemistry. TSC in the kidney is expressed principally as renal cysts and angiomyolipomas. Both abnormalities may occur separately or together, and both are commonly multiple and bilateral. Multiple benign vascular polyps of the ureter are rare, and the associated congenital megacalycosis and nephrolithiasis are very uncommon. Herein we report a case with vascular polyps of the right ureteropelvic junction dissociated with extensive hydronephrosis which was considered to be megacalycosis. Clinical features and treatment modalities are reviewed.

Hodgkin's disease and mycosis fungoides are only rarely reported to occur in the same individual. The authors report a patient who initially presented with Hodgkin's disease but later died with massive visceral mycosis fungoides. This sequence of events is unique in the world's reported lymphoma experience.

A 32-year-old man with Lindau's syndrome is presented. After an initial operation for cerebellar hemangioblastoma and laser coagulation of retinal tumors, other retinal tumors, a second cerebellar tumor, and four spinal hemangioblastomas occurred 10 years later; cystic lesions of both kidneys and of the pancreas could also be shown. There is no family history. Consequences for further diagnostic procedures in patients with hemangioblastomas are discussed.

Ovarian carcinoids are frequently encountered in association with mucinous cysts and occasionally with mucinous cystadenomas. From a series of more than 200 ovarian carcinoids, this report describes 2 cases of insular carcinoid, 1 of which arose in a cystadenoma of borderline malignancy and the other in a mucinous adenocarcinoma. Histogenesis, histologic patterns, and natural history of carcinoid are discussed.

The occurrence of bilateral breast cancers in three members of one family is reported. In two members, evidence of a distinct primary lesion in each breast was verified. The occurrence of unilateral breast cancer and other cancers in other members of the family was surveyed. Recommendations for early detection and surveillance in familial breast cancer at the present time should be aggressive and close follow-up of the affected members. Absence of reliable markers preclude effective surveillance for early detection or susceptibility.

After removal of epidermoid cysts from one side of the mandibular region, further cysts developed on the contralateral side in two patients. No evidence of basal cell naevomatosis was detected. The fact that the lesions recurred even though good cicatrization had been obtained, has to be emphasized. The dental germs, voluntarily left in place, developed in a fairly normal manner. Systematic pathological examination of such lesions would appear to be a valid procedure.

During a five-year period 299 female patients with breast cancer were treated by mastectomy. In 170 of the patients a biopsy of the contralateral upper lateral quadrant was performed during the operation. In 164 of the patients with primary carcinoma of ductal origin only 7 cases of malignancy in the contralateral biopsy were observed.
