AIMS: Several morphologically overlapping (myo)fibroblastic neoplasms harbour USP6 fusions, including aneurysmal bone cysts, nodular fasciitis, myositis ossificans, cranial fasciitis, fibro-osseous pseudotumour of the digits, and cellular fibroma of the tendon sheath. CONCLUSION: Benefits of the use of anteriorly and inferiorly based periosteal flaps (AIPFs) in congenital aural atresia (CAA) patients was found to be effective at reducing canal stenosis (CS) occurrence by long term F/U. However, in terms of minimizing CS, in addition to recruitment of AIPFs, considerations of patient factors, such as degree of microtia and age are mandatory.

METHODS: From April 1995 to April 2002, 11 patients with old scaphoid fracture were treated with transposition of vascularized periosteal flap and internal fixation; if necessary, the radial styloid was removed. Out of 11 patients( 8 males and 3 females, aged from 17 to 46 years), the fracture sites were medial scaphoid in 7, the proximal one in 2 and the distal one in 2. The relationship of the posterior interosseous nerve to the radial neck as it relates to internal fixation of radial head fractures was studied in 50 fresh anatomic specimen arms. After a standard posterolateral approach, blind subperiosteal dissection was performed distally until a 4-cm minifragment plate could be placed on the shaft of the radius. Dissection of the radial nerve was performed under loupe magnification. In only one (2%) arm did the posterior interosseous nerve lie directly on the radius. The average distance from the posterior interosseous nerve to the plate was 5 +/- 1.2 mm.
