During the first quarter of 1996, a major outbreak of clinical infection caused by multiresistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (MRKP) occurred in the neonatal ward of the 'Maternité Wassila Bourguiba' in Tunis, Tunisia. BACKGROUND: In Pakistan, the number of Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases is increasing significantly, attributed to risk factors such as injection drug use, sexual transmission, etc. However, transmission through hemodialysis units is not well documented. In 2024, an outbreak of HIV cases in Multan, Pakistan, drew alarm from local health authorities due to reports linking it to a large public hospital in South Punjab. STUDY DESIGN: Our study utilized whole-exome sequencing (WES), RNA-sequencing (RNAseq), and correlated clinical data from 12 samples (2 samples of solid sporadic subtype, 8 with cystic changes, and 2 previously irradiated).
SETTING: Academic medical center.

Toenail onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes is a significant medical and financial worldwide burden. An outbreak of Legionnaires' disease affected 12 customers of a supermarket in a town in Catalonia, Spain, between August and November 2006. An epidemiological and environmental investigation was undertaken.
