Neonatal diabetes (NDM) is defined as diabetes that occurs in the first 6 months of life, the majority of cases are due to sporadic mutations. ATP-sensitive potassium channels located in the beta cells of the pancreas play a major role in insulin secretion and blood glucose homeostasis. Mutations that alter the function of these channels may lead to NDM. Weight gain associated with integrase inhibitor-based treatment has become a critical issue in the clinical management of HIV infection. Repeated intraperitoneal injections of nickel and chromium (VI) into rats appeared to demonstrate that the combined subchronic toxicity can be additive or vary (mostly to subadditivity) in accordance with effect on which they are evaluated. With moderate general toxic effects, the studied combination has marked genotoxicity with additive effect. The studies demonstrated reciprocal influence of nickel and chromium on accumulation of the second metal in some organs (especially, in spleen), but not on its renal excretion.

In the present study, we report the invivo effects of nickel chloride (NiCl2; 8 and 16 mg/kg body weight) and/or potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7; 5 and 10mg/kg body weight) in the ovary of adult mice. Use of suitable plants that can extract and concentrate excess P from contaminated soil serves as an attractive method of phytoremediation. Plants vary in their potential to assimilate different organic and inorganic P-substrates. In this study, the response of Duo grass (Duo festulolium) to variable rates of soil-applied potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH(2)PO(4)) on biomass yield and P uptake were studied. In this study, we investigate pore scale morphology of nonaqueous phase liquids (NAPLs) trapped in different pore sizes using tracer techniques. Specific interfacial area and saturation of NAPL trapped in homogeneous sands were measured using the interfacial and partitioning tracer techniques.
