In 1998 to 2008, the Republic of Bashkortostan officially notified 174 cases of echinococcosis, including 43 cases in children less than 14 years of age. The patients' age varied from 6 to 75 years. Between 2008 and 2015, 462 newly-diagnosed adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) patients with cutaneous involvement were found from the nationwide registry for Japanese patients with cutaneous lymphoma, of which 391 were selected for the study. An experimental investigation into the influence of artificially induced trauma in the production of leishmanial metastatic lesions and into the possible role played by Leishmania-reactive T cell populations in the metastatic process was carried out.
