BACKGROUND: Although previous studies have reported the possibility of therapeutic ERCP without fluoroscopy, more robust documentation of fluoroscopy-free common bile duct stone (CBDS) clearance is needed. Technically, "digital cholangioscopy" (DCS) may be used to confirm CBDS clearance. Panniculitis is an uncommon and rare complication of systemic fat necrosis in patients with pancreatic diseases. The skin manifestations are independent of the severity of the pancreatic pathology and can occur at any time. The lesions can precede, be concomitant with or rarely follow the pancreatic illness. We report a case of acute pancreatitis post Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP) for common bile duct stone, with subcutaneous panniculitis. We noted a complete resolution within two weeks after the treatment of the pancreatic pathology.

YAG-Nd impulse-periodic laser scalpel in elimination of major duodenal papilla stenosis was tested experimentally. The direct damaging influence of the laser was tested in acute experiments and the optimal power of irradiation (5 W) was chosen. The processes of regeneration of the wound inflicted by laser irradiation were tested in chronic experiments. It is shown, that regeneration was accompanied with minimal leucocyte infiltration and complete healing of the wound is achieved in 28 days.

We report herein an extremely rare complication; namely, endo-clip migration into the common bile duct, following laparoscopic cholecystecto … nuclei, had migrated into the biliary tract. Endoscopic removal of the calculi following endoscopic sphincterotomy, using a basket catheter, was unsuccessful, and it was therefore necessary to remove the basket catheter surgically. The mechanism of endo-clip migration and the method for removing the endo-clips are briefly discussed.

BACKGROUND: Stones of the common bile duct are the most important factor in acute pancreatitis (AP). Endolaparoscopic surgery plays a well-recognized role in the treatment of this pathology.
METHODS: From January 1992 to December 1995 we observed 62 cases of acute biliary pancreatitis (ABP).
