BACKGROUND: The 650-ms, 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser device may provide superior efficacy and tolerability for the treatment of acne vulgaris over conventional treatments.
AIM: To evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of a 650-ms laser for the treatment of mild to severe facial acne vulgaris.
PATIENTS/METHODS: Records of 225 subjects with mild to severe facial acne vulgaris and treated with a 650-ms laser were reviewed.

Iatrogenic ureteral injury is a well-recognized complication of abdominal total hysterectomy. We report a case of a 57-year-old female who underwent abdominal total hysterectomy for a uterine myoma and experienced severe right flank pain postoperatively. The imaging study displayed an obstruction of the right distal ureter. Under ureteroscopy, an extraluminal ligature was released with a holmium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser. The stenotic segment was immediately relieved. Two months later, the intravenous urogram illustrated patency of the distal ureter with regression of right hydronephrosis.

Common warts (verruca vulgaris) are the most commonly seen benign cutaneous tumors. However, warts in the hands and feet regions often respond poorly to treatment, some are resistant to more than 6 months of treatment with currently available modalities, including cryotherapy, being defined as refractory warts. We investigated the usefulness of long-pulsed neodymium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet (LP-Nd:YAG) treatment for refractory warts.
