The aim of this study was to analyze the association of intestinal parasitic diseases with age and gender in patients with diarrhea attending a rural hospital in southern Ethiopia in the period 2007-2012. We tested a prototype stool enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) (TRI-COMBO) that is simultaneously diagnostic for Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium parvum, and Entamoeba histolytica in a rural pediatric clinic in Guatemala. A stool survey was carried out in some of the villages of Dadraul and Bhawal Khera PHC's of district Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh). Out of 381 individuals examined 111 (29.2 per cent) were found positive for one or the other intestinal parasite.
