Pancreatic stent-assisted ampullary precut papillotomy is a rescue method for cases with difficult bile duct cannulation during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). We describe a case in which post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) developed due to the proximal migration of pancreatic stent, after precut papillotomy. Midazolam is a more recent benzodiazepine used for sedation during endoscopic procedures, including sphincter of Oddi (SO) manometry. However, the effect of this drug on the human SO has so far not been studied. In this paper we explored the effect of midazolam on human SO motility by means of endoscopic manometry. UNLABELLED: Since 1986, Vankemmel M. has been advocating, in case of severe chronic pancreatitis with dilatation, even slight, of the pancreatic duct without associated cavity formation, to carry out wirsungosphincteroclasis (W-SC): 50 cases. This original technique includes a short cephalic wirsungotomy followed by the removal of canal obstruction by transampullary wirsungoduodenal caliber restoration, then a temporary wirsungonasal drainage. Cholelithiasis is considered as a major health problem in Mexico do to its high prevalence. The spectrum of gallstones ranges from sympatomatic to asymptomatic gallbladder stones.
