A 77-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with anemia and anorexia. Neither gastrointestinal endoscopy nor computed tomography showed by abnormal findings; however, a capsule endoscopy, performed to detect obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, revealed a tumor in the ileum. When we tried to take biopsies of the ileal tumor by push enteroscopy via the anus, we found another tumor in the transverse colon. A novel case where onchocercosis was identified as a cause of cervical myelopathy in the horse is described. A 15-year-old Connemara mare was euthanized due to progressive locomotion disturbance. Postmortem examination revealed soft-tissue swelling in the intervertebral joint capsule of C6-7 with narrowing of the vertebral canal. On light microscopy, axonopathy was pronounced in the corresponding segment of the spinal cord. Fibrous tissue and eosinophilic granulomas were found in the joint capsule, together with parasites identified histologically as Onchocerca sp.

PURPOSE: We report the first case of subconjunctival mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma arising in Tenon's capsule (fascia bulbi).

Solitary small intestine hemangiomas are rare and usually present with overt bleeding or chronic anemia. Diagnosis is usually difficult because traditional imaging techniques often lack accuracy. Capsule endoscopy is a new diagnostic tool that has showed greater sensitivity than other methods to reveal causes of bleeding in the small intestine. A case of hemangioma of the ileum in a 13-year-old boy is presented. Capsule endoscopy allowed diagnosis and planning of surgical treatment.
