Febrile ulceronecrotic Mucha-Habermann disease is a very rare and severe variant of pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta. Adult cases are difficult to diagnose as in the early course they can mimic erythema multiforme or lymphomatoid papulosis. We report a case of a 38-year-old woman who presented with 90% body surface area involvement, fever, diarrhea, malaise and associated comorbidities. She was treated with systemic steroids and methotrexate but suffered a fatal outcome. So far, a total of 65 cases are reported in the literature.

Lip enlargement may be an important symptom of either systemic or local diseases. On the basis of selected age-matched clinical cases we present the possible causes of lip swelling. We describe the most representative symptoms and recommend treatment of these pathologies. We differentiate lip swelling in Miescher syndrome, monosymptomatic form of Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome, lip swelling in erythema multiforme and Stevens-Johnson syndrome and lip hemangioma and mucous extravasation cyst. We compare different causes of lip edema and indicate the most helpful diagnostic and treatment methods.

Rowell's syndrome (RS) is a rare type of coexistence of one of the lupus erythematosus (LE) types (systemic, subacute cutaneous or discoid) and erythema multiforme (EM) (including toxic epidermal necrolysis). We present the case of a 51-year-old patient with a diagnosis of RS, most probably caused by drugs given as psychiatric treatment. After cessation of sodium valproate and initiation of treatment with prednisolone, a spectacular clinical remission was achieved. The likely role of psychiatric drugs, namely sodium valproate and sertraline, as triggering factors, is discussed.

Terbinafine is an allylamine antifungal agent widely used to treat dermatophyte onychomycosis and dermatomycoses. We report 10 severe cutaneous adverse reactions associated with terbinafine therapy which required discontinuation of the antifungal agent: erythema multiforme (five patients), erythroderma (one), severe urticaria (one), pityriasis rosea (one) and worsening of pre-existing psoriasis (two patients). Ulcerations are common occurrences in the mouth. Causes include physical trauma, radiation, chemical injury, and microbial infection (bacterial, viral, and fungal).
