Thirty four trabeculectomy specimens from open angle glaucoma patients who had under argon laser trabeculoplasty as part of their treatment, were studied by scanning electron microscopy. PURPOSE: To report the outcomes of gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) for juvenile-onset primary open-angle glaucoma (JOAG).
METHODS: A consecutive case series of JOAG patients who underwent GATT was reviewed with follow-up period of up to 18 months. PURPOSE: Systemic review to compare selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) to other glaucoma treatment options in terms of their intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering effect.

BACKGROUND: Ligneous conjunctivitis is a rare condition characterized by chronic, recurrent conjunctivitis associated with pseudomembrane, and it may involve other mucous membranes in the mouth, nasopharynx, trachea, and vagina. We examined and treated a case of presumed ligneous conjunctivitis.
CASE: The patient was a 10-year-old boy. His chief complaints were visual impairment, discomfort, and discharge, but no itching in his eyes. His upper eyelids appeared thick without swelling. He had a past history of surgery for lid entropion. His two siblings had similar follicular conjunctivitis.

The results of diode laser trabeculoplasty carried out on 14 eyes of primary open-angle glaucoma are demonstrated. Powers of 0.8-1.0 W were used, with spot 75 um and a pulse of 0.1 second and a mean ocular hypotensive effect of 6.82 +/- 2.94 mmHg (27.9%) was observed at 6 months after treatment. The 78.6% compensation was achieved. The results confirm that diode laser trabeculoplasty is an effective mode of treatment for eyes with primary open-angle glaucoma.
