Spontaneous Uterine rupture is associated with massive intra-peritoneal bleed which can be fatal if not recognized. We report a case of 32 year old multigravida at 28 weeks of gestation with history of liver cysts, previous caesarean and uterine curettage, who presented with acute abdominal pain and tenderness; ultrasound revealed placenta percreta. CT abdomen showed haemoperitoneum. The patient underwent emergency caesarean hysterectomy due to uterine rupture at the cornual site.

Though rare occurrences, fatal falls from bicycles are generally linked to the absence of a protective helmet and/or a collision with another vehicle. The case presented here is exceptional due to its circumstances and the consequences of the accident: a fall with no obstacle at a low speed that brought about multiple traumas and the death of a cyclist wearing a protective helmet. Thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) is a soluble biomarker associated with DNA synthesis. This prospective study evaluated serum TK1 activity in dogs presenting with hemoabdomen and a splenic mass. An ELISA using azidothymidine as a substrate was used to evaluate TK1 activity. Sixty-two dogs with hemoabdomen and 15 normal controls were studied. Serum TK1 activity was significantly higher in dogs with hemangiosarcoma (HSA) than in normal dogs (mean ± SEM = 17.0 ± 5.0 and 2.01 ± 0.6, respectively), but not dogs with benign disease (mean ± SEM = 10.0 ± 3.3). We present a case of a 37-year-old woman who presented with acute right lower quadrant abdominal pain. Work up with contrast enhanced CT to rule out appendicitis revealed dramatic ring enhancing cystic structure in the right adnexa corresponding to tubal ring sign of ectopic pregnancy seen on subsequent pelvic ultrasound. Computed tomography showed a subcapsular hepatic mass in the posterior segment of the right hemiliver (subsegment 7) containing a fluid-fluid level.
