The article considers characteristics of clinical manifestations of dental plexalgia, a new form of the disease related to impairment of dental plexuses. In a clinicophysiological study of 56 patients with dental plexalgia conducted at a neurostomatological department the authors used rheofaciography, thermometry and thermography of the face skin, esthesiometry, and electrodiagnosis of the oral mucosa. Electrodiagnosis of the oral mucosa helps to specify the diagnosis of dental plexalgia. The authors describe differential diagnosis criteria reflecting the peculiarities of the clinical picture

Haemodynamic responses to sustained isometric exercise (handgrip at 30% of maximum voluntary capacity) were studied in 10 patients with Chagas's cardiopathy without previous or current heart failure. Five of the patients (group 1) had profound impairment of parasympathetic control of heart rate. Two patients presented with a history of exercise-induced hypotension associated with severe pruritus and either generalized urticaria or facial angioedema. Each patient was exercised under controlled conditions with use of bicycle ergometer exerciser (900 KPM/min) for 20 to 30 min at 23 degrees C. Each patients complained of generalized pruritus and then erupted in lesions typical of cholinergic urticaria. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the effects of the neuropeptide cholecystokinin on neuronal firing can be changed by acetylcholine in various structures of the brain. Single unit activity was extracellularly recorded in rats anesthetized with urethane. The neurons were located in several nuclei of the thalamus, the basal ganglia and the cerebral cortex.
