Biological treatment represents an alternative to conventional adsorption technologies for the removal of pesticides from contaminated groundwater and landfill leachates. From the in vitro glucose uptake assay, two compounds behaved as insulin sensitizers, where they enhanced glucose uptake in isolated rat diaphragm.
