Diabetic maculopathy is one of the retinal abnormalities in which a diabetic patient suffers from severe vision loss due to the affected macula. It affects the central vision of the person and causes blindness in severe cases. In this article, we propose an automated medical system for the grading of diabetic maculopathy that will assist the ophthalmologists in early detection of the disease. Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are neurodevelopmental conditions with impairments in social communication and interaction. Empathy is the ability to understand and share another person's inner life, and it is an essential process in social cognition, which is deficient in ASD. The mismatch field (MMF) has been used as a neurophysiological marker for the automatic detection of changes in auditory stimuli. In the present study, we focused on long-term changes in MMF evoked by an empathic voice and changes in the empathy quotient (EQ) in ASD during an 8-week clinical trial using oxytocin (OT).

The extremely rare phenotypes p, P1k and P2k (0.0005-0.0006%) of the blood group P system are usually found in consanguinous families. In the serum of these persons haemolytic antibodies with the specificity anti-PP1Pk and anti-P are found, causing severe haemolytic reactions after transfusion of incompatible blood. We report the clinical and neuropathological manifestations of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in nine kindreds of German ancestry all originating from the same two adjacent villages on the West bank of the Volga River.
