BACKGROUND: Electrocardiographically occult occlusive myocardial infarction (OOMI), defined as coronary artery occlusion requiring revascularization without ST-segment elevation on electrocardiogram (ECG), is associated with delayed diagnosis resulting in higher morbidity. Left ventricular (LV) wall motion abnormalities (WMA) appreciated on echocardiography can expedite OOMI diagnosis. INTRODUCTION: Cauda equina syndrome (CES) is a neurosurgical emergency. Early diagnosis with MRI and subsequent surgical decompression surgery can prevent permanent neurological dysfunction. Charing Cross Hospital (CXH) is a tertiary neurosurgical referral centre where in the emergency department (ED), current practice mandated a neurosurgery review prior to requesting MRI.

BACKGROUND: Management of patients' sex partners is a critical element of sexually transmitted disease (STD) control. Expedited partner therapy (EPT), a practice in which patients deliver medication or a prescription directly to their partners, is one option for partner management. As of 2009, New York State law specifically allows EPT for chlamydial infection. Federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in New York City (NYC) care for patients at risk for STDs.
