The study aimed to evaluate the antithrombotic action of Acrocomia aculeata pulp oil (AAPO) in natura, in an in vitro experimental model. Deep eutectic solvents can serve as a green and recyclable alternative to t-butanol. The haplo-insufficient p53 knockout (p53+/-) and zetaglobin v-Ha-ras (Tg.AC) transgenic mouse models were compared to the conventional two rodent species carcinogen bioassay by prospectively testing nine chemicals. Seven of the chemicals classified as carcinogens in the conventional bioassay induced tumors in the liver or kidneys of B6C3F1 mice, and one (pentachlorophenol) also induced tumors in other tissues. AIMS/HYPOTHESIS: Although retinoid X receptor (RXR) and peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-gamma (PPARgamma) agonists have antidiabetic effects in hyperinsulinaemic animals, little information exists on their effects after pancreatic beta-cell failure. Thus, we examined if RXR and PPARgamma agonists alter distinct metabolic pathways in animals suffering from impaired insulin secretion.
