A spindle cell lipoma was partially removed from the left orbit of a 27-year-old man. Computed tomography showed a large, mildly enhancing, primarily intraconal mass. The circumscribed, nonencapsulated mass was composed of mature adult lipocytes, spindle cells, and capillaries. The spindle cells lacked a basal lamina and contained a single elongated nucleus. A 21-year old man sustained multiple facial fractures and skin lacerations during an automobile accident, with resultant necrosis of the left upper eyelid and exposure of the cornea. Bacterial and secondary fungal corneal ulceration and perforation occurred, leading to enucleation. Cultures from the noninfected anophthalmic orbit approximately eight weeks after enucleation yielded Pseudomonas pseudomallei. This is the second isolate of this domallei. This is the second isolate of this organism in the United States and the first apparent association with the ocular adnexa.

A 42-year-old woman had an orbital mass lesion removed surgically that proved histologically to be a spindle cell lipoma. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of a spindle cell lipoma arising in the orbit. This specific type of lipoma occurs chiefly in male patients and is believed to affect the shoulder and posterior neck regions almost exclusively. Spindle cell lipomas, while having unusual features histologically, are benign and should not be mistaken for liposarcomas or other spindle cell soft-tissue tumors.

A case of true hematic cyst of the orbit in a 10-year-old girl, apparently resulting from birth trauma, is presented. Ultrasonic and clinical features believed to aid the examiner in correctly diagnosing such a lesion are presented. While apparently unique among reported cases, "congenital" hematic cysts of the orbit undoubtedly occur occasionally and the possibility of this entity should be considered in appropriate circumstances.

A 47-year-old white man in apparent good health had diplopia and swelling of the right upper eyelid. Ocular examination showed proptosis of the right eye, together with a large, pulsatile, collapsible mass simulating a vascular neoplasm and involving the right temple as well as the right upper outer quadrant of the orbit. The close association of the external and internal carotid circulations in the orbital cavity is well recognized. Two cases are presented in which local trauma to the orbit apparently resulted in the formation of an arteriovenous fistula. These lesions progressively expanded, producing classical features of proptosis, chemosis, and bruit. A 16-year-old girl presented with progressive, painless proptosis of the left eye. X-ray studies revealed an extensive lesion involving the left orbit, antrum, and middle cranial fossa. A biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of aneurysmal bone cyst, and the lesion was surgically excised. There has been no evidence of recurrence after three years. In a review of the literature, we were able to find only seven other cases of aneurysmal bone cyst involving the orbit.

A novel projective measurement technique utilizing conventional photoelectron velocity-map imaging to probe the spatial part of the wave function by projecting it into momentum space is demonstrated. Oscillations between the states |m_{l}=0,m_{s}=±1/2⟩ and |m_{l}=±1,m_{s}=∓1/2⟩ are observed with no detectable decoherence over 170 cycles with a speed of around 1.7 THz driven purely by spin-orbit interaction.
