BACKGROUND: The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) ranks helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) as one of the most perilous occupations in the United States, with improvements in its safety of highest priority. As many injured patients are transported by helicopter, this is of particular concern to the trauma community. The use of HEMS is associated with a heightened degree of inherent risk. We hypothesized that this risk is not uniform and varies with the entity providing HEMS, specifically, commercial versus public safety providers.

BACKGROUND: Private providers (PPs), rather than public facilities, are often the first point of contact in the health system for people with tuberculosis (TB). However, PP's potential for enhancing TB detection remains underutilized.
METHODS: TB REACH is an initiative of Stop TB Partnership focused on improving TB detection and notification. We analyzed the results of interventions using private provider engagement (PPE) to impact TB detection and notification across four TB REACH funding waves from May 2018 through March 2022.

Within South Africa and on the African continent, the various reports of the KING Committees on Corporate Governance have become guiding principles for organisations in both the public and private sector. This paper focuses on the KING IV report and discusses its relevance to the different but interrelated fields of business continuity, organisational resilience and risk management. The paper suggests that organisations seeking to comply with KING IV will need to familiarise themselves with ISO 22301 and the BCI Good Practice Guidelines, as well as ISO 31000.

Since 1995, when the first, non-governmental umbilical cord blood bank (CB bank) was created in Kanagawa prefecture, 9 local CB banks have been established in Hokkaido, Kanto, Tokai, Kinki and Kyusyu district. According to the experiences of organizing these local banks and of collecting the data of cord blood cell transplantation by 2 grant study groups, The Ministry of Health and Welfare is now creating national cord blood banking system, which will be opened in the coming April.

This article reports a survey of workplace violence in Hong Kong. A sizable number of the 1,198 organizations that were questioned reported that they had experienced such violence over the 2 years preceding the study, but the problem was not prevalent.
