This article identifies potential barriers that nurses and other health care professionals face when approaching families to offer the option of organ and tissue donation. Issues that are examined include personal feelings regarding dying, death, and organ donation; unclear roles for nurses and other health care personnel; nonsupportive institutions or physicians; difficulty in explaining brain death to families; fear of intruding during grief; lack of knowledge; and the need for support. Strategies are suggested to help nurses and other professionals to overcome these obstacles.

We describe 3 professional footballers who developed lichenoid dermatitis over a short period of time. Clinically, the eruption in all 3 of them can be classified as lichenoid photodermatitis. We suggest an influence of possible contact allergens or photo-active substances. Histologic evidence points to features of classical lichen planus with purpura, typical of lichen aureus (purpuricus), but showing some clinical and morphological differences.

In this contribution the issue of professionalization is being discussed, mainly tailored to the field of vocational rehabilitation in Dutch Mental Health. Presented is an overview of existing routines frequently used in the methodical actions of industrial therapists and occupational therapists. Several important methodical suggestions for the concretization of a renewed concept of vocational rehabilitation were formulated. The last part of the contribution explores the key-question: "Professionalization?"

Two surveys studied the inadequacies of professional assistance given to incest victims. In the investigation 130 professionals and 50 adult women victimized as children were interviewed. Therapists who have treated patients with multiple personality disorder (MPD) were surveyed about professional skepticism regarding the existence of MPD. Data are from a 1979 community sample (n = 1000) of adults in Los Angeles County. An anonymous survey regarding players' injuries specific to roundnet was created with input from two premier roundnet athletes and two orthopedic surgeons. BACKGROUND: Audit and feedback (A&F) is a widely used strategy to improve professional practice. A qualitative study was carried out with five professionals in a pediatric intensive care unit in 2022. Semi-structured interviews were used to find out how they felt about patients from their own culture, and about the role of their mother tongue in hospital care. Caregivers find it difficult to bring their own culture to the fore when caring for their patients. A description of the obstacles they encounter, as well as the advantages, is included.
