OBJECTIVES: Patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) are often excluded from trials comparing off and on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Thus data in this cohort is limited to small retrospective studies. Traumatic cerebral dissections are rare but potentially dangerous conditions that through improved diagnostics have recently gained increased interest. However, there is still a significant lack of knowledge on the natural history, as well as on the best treatment options. INTRODUCTION: Huntington's disease (HD) is an autosomal dominant hereditary disease caused by triplet repetition in exon 1 of the huntingtin protein located in chromosome 4. Medium spiny neurons in the striatum are selectively affected. Clinical manifestations include progressive behavioural, motor and cognitive disorders. DATA SOURCES: Articles were identified through searches of PubMed (1950-August 2005), EMBASE (1988-August 2005 week 37), and International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (1970-August 2005) databases using the key words risperidone, atypical antipsychotics, and bipolar mania.
