In this work, a new copolymer synthesized in our laboratory is used as physically adsorbed coating for capillary electrophoresis (CE). The copolymer is composed of ethylpyrrolidine methacrylate (EPyM) and methylmethacrylate (MMA). The capillary coating is easily obtained by simply flushing into the tubing an EPyM/MMA solution. Pulsed laser resonant photoacoustic spectroscopy was applied for detection of highly toxic SO(2) with 266 nm as the excitation source. An extra-cavity longitudinal resonant cell, was designed and fabricated to enhance the sensitivity of the system, which is capable of detecting the trace amount of SO(2). The structural dynamics of the ring-opening reaction in a photochromic indolylfulgimide, a reversible, ultrafast photoswitch, is investigated by ultra-broadband time-resolved vibrational spectroscopy. The experimentally observed vibrational modes of the indolylfulgimide photoisomers C and E are assigned to normal modes with the help of DFT calculations. A complete evaluation of the observed vibrational dynamics including excited-state vibrational modes is used to characterize the reaction path and the cooling behavior of the photoswitch.

Three selected phenothiazines and their demethylated derivatives are chromatographed on different C18 bonded reversed-phase liquid chromatography columns. A quadratic equation fits the relationship log k versus the organic modifier percentage. When acetonitrile is the organic modifier, the demethylated derivative is eluted before the parent compound, whereas it is eluted after when methanol is the organic modifier. The log kw values are therefore different. Selectivity between the metabolite and the parent compound is higher with methanol.

This paper reports the first detailed study on meso-unsubstituted azuliporphyrins, an important family of porphyrin-like molecules where one of the usual pyrrole rings has been replaced by an azulene subunit. A sensitive and specific high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method based upon laser-based polarimetric detection is developed for the determination of six tetracycline analogues. The enantiomers of the antiinflammatory drug Etodolac were separated without derivatization on Chiralcel OD and Pirkle (R)-DNBPG columns. Enantiomeric purity can be determined in less than 10 min. A thin-layer chromatographic screening procedure for some basic, neutral and acidic drugs was developed using 3 ml of horse plasma. Chloroform-2-propanol (95:5, v/v) was used as the extraction solvent. The drugs were identified by a high-performance thin-layer chromatographic plate and spraying successively with some detection reagents. In this study, the extraction recovery rates and the detection limits were determined at the same time.

Dissolution of [111In]labeled tablets was measured in vivo in a totally noninvasive manner by using a modification of the perturbed angular correlation technique known as the summation peak ratio method.
