The objective of this article is to evaluate the workshops of "accepting the patient" for dentists and of self-care for carriers of chronic periodontitis. The patients assisted at the periodontics clinics of graduation and post-graduation Dentistry courses and periodontics specialty students, in Fortaleza, Ceará State, Brazil, took part of educative workshops. In 30 patients with periodontitis, a total of 278 teeth exhibiting bleeding on probing, subgingival calculus, and a probing depth between 3-6 mm were examined. BACKGROUND: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published the Clinical Practice Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Pain-United States, 2022 (CDCCPG) to replace the 2016 guideline. This guideline was designed to serve as a clinical tool to improve communication between clinicians and patients and empower them to make informed, person-centered decisions regarding pain management and the prescribing of opioids.
