Since 1995 it has been known that tumors harboring human papillomavirus (HPV) preferentially show basaloid or condylomatous histological features, while HPV-negative tumors have a different morphology. A schwannoma is a benign nerve sheath tumor derived from Schwann cells. They are usually small and solitary tumors more frequently localized in cranial nerves and the spinal cord and rarely in the limbs. Some cases have been reported involving extremities (mainly the upper ones) but with a small size. Cases of big size schwannomas unrelated to a neurofibromatosis are very rare. We report the case of a 25 year old patient, with a giant schwannoma which invaded the ischiatic region reaching the triceps surae.

A 67-year-old man had pain and swelling in the bilateral inguinal region. His past medical history included non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and liver cirrhosis. A clinical examination revealed a solid mass that was palpable along with the bilateral spermatic cord from the external inguinal ring to the root of the scrotum. Other than a hydrocele in the right testis, the epididymis and testes were intact. Abdominal computed tomography showed ascites and a solid tumor of the bilateral spermatic cord. BACKGROUND: Cervical adenocarcinoma in situ is often diagnosed in younger women who may wish to preserve the potential for fertility. Given that the rate of recurrent adenocarcinoma in situ is relatively low and the risk of invasive adenocarcinoma is extremely rare, conservative management in this population after a cone biopsy demonstrates negative margins has been accepted as an appropriate management strategy. OBJECTIVE: To report a case of locally invasive angiomyofibroblastoma of the scrotum. To our knowledge, this is the first case of invasive scrotal angiomyofibroblastoma reported in the literature.
METHODS: A case of invasive angiomyofibroblastoma of the scrotum is presented. The literature is reviewed with special reference to the etiopathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of this rare soft tissue tumor.
RESULTS/CONCLUSIONS: The case described herein shows that angiomyofibroblastoma can be invasive.

A fibrosarcoma of periosteal origin was identified in the oral cavity of a 22-yr-old male captive Siamese crocodile (Crocodylus siamensis). The diagnosis was based upon the gross and light microscopical examination. The mesenchymal histogenesis was derived from the capability of the cells to produce collagen fibers. The invasive growth and the polymorphous cells in combination with the low mitotic index suggest a low-order malignancy. Attempts by immunohistochemical staining techniques to identify the specific lineage of the neoplastic cells and the expressed collagen type were unsuccessful.
