Perioperative clinical outcomes of remimazolam in regional anesthesia: a systematic review of sedation and safety parameters.

BACKGROUND: Regional anesthesia provides significant perioperative benefits, but patients often require sedation for comfort and immobility. Common sedatives such as propofol or dexmedetomidine can cause hemodynamic instability or prolonged recovery. Remimazolam, a newer ultra-short-acting benzodiazepine, has a rapid onset and offset with potentially improved safety. This systematic review aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of remimazolam for sedation during regional anesthesia. METHOD: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Embase were systematically searched up to July 2025 for randomized

Reporting practices and impact of withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment on outcomes in acute brain injury clinical trials: a literature review and simulation study.

BACKGROUND: Withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment (WLST) is common in clinical trials of patients with acute brain injuries (ABI), but current reporting practices and impact on trial-reported findings are unclear. We evaluated reporting practices of WLST in contemporary clinical trials of patients with ABI and quantified the magnitude of bias on treatment effect estimates in hypothetical trials. METHODS: We conducted a literature review of contemporary ABI randomized clinical trials and a simulation-based analysis. In the literature review, we included two-arm, randomized, superiority trial

Reclassifying dropouts from antipsychotic trials due to study-reported adverse events: a systematic review and individual-participant-data meta-analyses.

In antipsychotic trials for acute schizophrenia, dropout reasons are typically classified into inefficacy, adverse events (AEs), and other reasons. AEs can include not only somatic, but also psychiatric AEs, which may reflect inefficacy. However, studies seldom report them separately. We examined detailed reasons for dropouts attributed to AEs and assessed the impact of reclassification. We searched Vivli for randomized controlled trials with individual-participant-data on adults with acute schizophrenia (up to April 9, 2025). When dropout was attributed to an AE, we cross-checked reports and

Interventions to improve neonatal and infant intubation success: a meta-analysis.

UNLABELLED: The aim of this study is to synthesize and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions aimed at improving endotracheal intubation success in neonates and infants. PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched from inception through July 2025. Randomized studies involving neonatal or infant endotracheal intubation were included regardless of intervention or comparator. Two reviewers independently extracted data and assessed risk of bias. Data were pooled using a random-effects inverse-variance model. Results are reported as risk ratios (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). C

Isometric Exercises for Tendinopathies: A Systematic Literature Review.

PURPOSE: Musculoskeletal disorders are among the most common reasons for medical consultation, with tendinopathies accounting for up to 30% of such presentations. Although exercise remains the cornerstone of management, the most effective modality continues to be debated. Eccentric exercise has long been the mainstay, but the role of isometric exercise in pain modulation and functional recovery remains unclear. This systematic review aims to evaluate the current evidence on the efficacy of isometric exercises in the management of tendinopathies across various anatomic sites. METHODS: A system

On-Line High-Volume Hemodiafiltration: Current Evidence and Clinical Outcomes.

Despite continuous technological advances in dialysis therapy, patients with kidney failure undergoing maintenance hemodialysis continue to experience high morbidity and mortality, largely driven by cardiovascular disease and chronic inflammation. Conventional hemodialysis efficiently removes small solutes but has limited capacity to eliminate middle molecules and protein-bound uremic toxins that contribute to cardiovascular complications. On-line hemodiafiltration (OL-HDF) combines diffusive and convective transport, improving the clearance of a wider range of uremic toxins. Beyond its effect
