We examined neocortical pathology and interneuron degeneration in neonatal hypoxia-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Piglets in two age groups (2-3 or 7-10 days old, n = 4-12/group) underwent global cerebral hypoxia-ischemia (HI) or sham treatment.
