To our knowledge, there have been no previous reports of granulomatous periorificial dermatitis (GPD) in adult patients in contrast to childhood GPD (CGPD). We report cases of 9 adult patients with GPD with regards to the clinical and histopathological characteristics and their management. We describe the clinical features of a novel complication in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). Twenty patients, mean age 23 years, with AD who presented with staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome (SSSS)-like lesions were included between January 2008 and September 2010. We identified Malassezia species isolated from 42 patients with seborrhoeic dermatitis, 17 patients with atopic dermatitis, 22 patients with pityriasis versicolor, 35 normal subjects and 73 healthy medical students. We reported on the case of a patient who developed a cutaneous eruption in a photoexposed area 1 week after a continous topical treatment with dexketoprofen (Enangel). Photopatch tests were positive for dexketoprofen, ketoprofen and piketoprofen and patch test was positive for piketoprofen. The case of a 51 year old woman, working in the field of agriculture, is reported; she developed a photoallergic dermatitis and a fulminant hepatitis after the use of the herbicide phenmedipham (Betanal). Photopatch-testing revealed sensitization to phenmedipham and, additionally, to maprotiline hydrochloride (Ludiomil), an antidepressant taken by the patient at about the same time. The possible relationship of these reactions with the clinical symptoms are discussed.

A single clinical report describes photoallergic contact dermatitis to bisphenol A, with subsequent persistent light reactivity, in a group of eight outdoor workers. In a mouse model we have induced photoallergic contact dermatitis to bisphenol A; sites of photochallenge reactions flared when later tested with UVA alone. Attempts to induce photoallergy to bisphenol A in guinea pigs failed.
