This retrospective single-center case series evaluated the outcomes of direct selective laser trabeculoplasty (DSLT) in patients with primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG). Twelve eyes of 8 phakic patients with PACG and patent laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) underwent DSLT. The primary outcome was the percentage reduction in intraocular pressure (IOP). OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the association between perioperative morbidity and prostate size in patients with benign prostatic obstruction treated with thulium:YAG vapoenucleation of the prostate (ThuVEP).
METHODS: 687 patients were prospectively analyzed. Prostate size was <40 ml in 196 (group A), 40-79 ml in 336 (group B) and ≥80 ml in 155 (group C) patients.

PURPOSE: To report a case of complete occlusion of the capsulorhexis opening in a DM patient with high hemoglobin A1C level.
METHODS: A 77-year-old woman with non-insulin-dependent diabetes underwent uncomplicated phacoemulsification in both eyes. One year later, she presented again because of reduced vision (best-corrected visual acuity of 16/20 in the right eye, 6/20 in the left eye). Dilated examination revealed marked anterior capsular contraction in the right eye and anterior capsular phimosis totally occluding the capsulorhexis opening in the left eye.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Although some studies have attempted to elucidate the possible advantages of the use of Er:YAG laser radiation as a coadjuvant of scaling and root planing (SRP), the results have often been contradictory.
