Adult acquired flatfoot deformity (AAFD) is a common disorder that typically affects middle-aged and elderly women, resulting in foot pain, malalignment, and loss of function. The disorder is initiated most commonly by degeneration of the posterior tibialis tendon (PTT), which normally functions to maintain the talonavicular joint at the apex of the three arches of the foot. PTT degeneration encompasses tenosynovitis, tendinosis, tendon elongation, and tendon tearing. The malaligned foot is initially flexible but becomes rigid and constant as the disorder progresses. Tendon dysfunction commonl…

None of the 10 hands with TS exhibited triggering of the fingers. The mean interval between treatment initiation and symptom resolution was 2.2 months for the 5 hands treated by corticosteroid injection or surgery and 5.9 months fo …

BACKGROUND: Flexor tendon ruptures in the wrist are uncommon. Flexor carpi radialis (FCR) tendon rupture can occur in rheumatoid patients, following cortisone injection for tenosynovitis, and following trauma. Following tendon rupture, tethering of the ruptured FCR tendon, or pseudotendon, can form which may or may not be symptomatic.
METHODS: A literature review was done reviewing treatment and outcomes of FCR tendon lesions. A case report of painful FCR pseudotendon following a fall is presented. The patient presented 4 months after injury with a tender lump 6 cm proximal to the wrist joint…
