Much light has been shed on the underlying disturbances of virilization syndromes. The clinical aspects remain enormously manifold, and close teamwork between the pediatrician and pediatric surgeon is indispensable. In this chapter, the sources of androgens responsible for virilization and the syndrome of male pseudohermaphroditism are discussed in detail.

AIM: To present the outcome of an online survey of the current practice in feminizing surgery for congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) among the specialists attending the IVth World Congress of the International Society of Hypospadias and Disorders of the Sex Development (ISHID), 2011.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: An online survey covered 13 individual questions regarding the management and surgical techniques for 46XX CAH patients. All delegates attending the conference were invited to complete this anonymous survey. The data was analysed by three of the authors.

INTRODUCTION: Many women taking low-dose (20 mcg) oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) complain of decreased libido and arousal and some develop vulvar vestibular pain and dyspareunia. Local, so-called incurable, recurrences of breast or genital cancers were as therapeutic challenge in the past. The authors undertook a pilot trial of laser treatment in 45 patients, as a palliative measure, in view of the serious psychological and physical problems experienced by these women constantly confronted by the presence of painful, visible and often ulcerated tumor lesions. CO2 and Nd:YAG lasers were used for tumor vaporisation and coagulation, the combined use of these two wavelengths providing the new study concept which emerged from this pilot trial.
