This retrospective study evaluated 41 cases of child deaths child deaths of both sexes from family violence and autopsied at Mansoura Morgue of Forensic Medicine Institute from 1996 to 2005. According to their ages, children were divided into four groups as follow: <3 years; 3-6 years; 6-9 years and 9-12 years. Some socio-demographic parameters concerning the perpetrators were investigated such as level of education of fathers, parent marital status and residence. The level and direction of hostility in patients with bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa and a comparison group were measured using the the Hostility and Direction of Hostility Questionnaire. RATIONALE: The Iowa Gambling Task (IGT) can be used to quantify impulsive and risky choice behaviors in psychiatric patients, e.g., bipolar disorder (BD) sufferers. Although developing treatments for these behaviors is important, few predictive animal models exist. Inhibition of the dopamine transporter (DAT) can model profiles of altered motor activity and exploration seen in patients with BD. The effect of DAT inhibition on impulsive choices related to BD has received limited study however. We used a rodent IGT to elucidate the effects of similarly acting drugs on risky choice behavior.
