The prognostic and diagnostic importance of certain cutaneous lesions in HIV infection is discussed. In own patients of interest was the frequency of oral candidiasis (30%) and extensive seborrhoeic changes and persistent eruptions of the type of molluscum contagiosum in a patient with the AIDS-dementia complex which were associated with oropharyngeal candidiasis.

A clinical syndrome, consisting of eruptive linear seborrheic keratoses associated with adenomatous colonic polyps (malignant but without invasion of the stalk) and/or frankly invasive colonic adenocarcinomas, is described in five patients. Functional hyperprolactinemia was found in five female patients, 25-35 years old, seeking medical consultation for hair loss, together with hypertrichosis (4x), disturbances of cyclic bleeding periods (4x), secondary amenorrhea (2x), galactorrhea (2x), seborrhea (2x) and persisting acne (1x). In a biometrically controlled study on psoriatic patients, we investigated the efficacy and tolerability of bifonazole 1% plus urea 20% cream. In each of our ten patients, two lesions were treated over a period of 29 to 40 days (34 days on the average). Therapeutic results were not satisfying with lesions on extremities in comparison to those on head and body. On head and trunk, the size of the lesions amounted to 11.8 and 10.3 cm2, resp., before treatment, 2.8 and 4.3 cm2, resp., after therapy. II alpha-Hydroxyprogesterone, a synthetic antiandrogen of low toxicity, was applied topically. In short-term experiments the sebum production of the forehead in normal male subjects was reduced significantly. The cholesterol concentration of sebum decreased to a greater extent. In long-term studies in patients with seborrhoea and male-pattern alopecia, the steroid caused a marked and constant reduction of greasiness of the hair. The sign of Leser-Trélat, the sudden appearance of multiple seborrheic keratoses in conjunction with an internal malignancy, is very uncommon. A case involving a patient who had undergone resection of an adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon followed ten years later by the development of an adenocarcinoma of the stomach with exhibition of the sign of Leser-Trélat is presented. A summary of reported cases, along with a discussion of the sign, is provided. This is the first reported case of a patient presenting with the sign of Leser-Trélat along with a second primary malignancy.

With fluorescence-histochemical methods (FIF method) pigment-producing cells were investigated in benign and malignant skin lesions. From among 810 persons subjected to a medical examination, skin lesions were found in 33.3%. These were mostly: seborrhea (89 cases), occupational naevi (55 cases), dermatomycosis (49 cases), urticaria (21 cases), eczema (12 cases). Other dermatoses were found in 44 workers, however, in a small percentage, not greater than in other non-industrial populations. No occupational dermatoses resulting from exposure to fundamental materials or dyes used in production were found.

175 women of reproductive age, with hirsutism of differing degrees and different pathogenetic causes (ovarian, adrenal, iatrogenic) or idiopathic, and acne were treated with two different combinations of Cyprotrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol (SH 8.1041 and SH B209AB). 90 patients were given SH 8.1041 and 10 were given SH B209AB. 75 received both preparations.
