Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by extreme ultraviolet (UV) sensitivity, predisposing patients to multiple cutaneous malignancies. BACKGROUND: Cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) pocket infection is the most common infectious complication following pacemaker implantation or generator replacement and generally requires complete device and lead extraction according to current international guidelines. Nevertheless, non-infectious disorders, including malignant disease, may closely mimic pocket infection, creating a challenging differential diagnosis and potentially leading to delayed diagnosis or unnecessary CIED extraction.
