Multi-Target Aesthetic Enhancement with 1064 nm Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser: Face and Body Hair Lightening, Pigment Clearance, and Skin Rejuvenation in Indian Dermatology.

BACKGROUND: Cultural beauty ideals in South Asia favor both lighter skin and hair pigmentation, creating demand for various lightening procedures. The skin- and hair-lightening products currently on the market carry substantial health risks, including cutaneous adverse effects and systemic toxicity. Given these safety concerns, there's a critical need for safer alternatives. OBJECTIVE: This study sought to explore the deliberate application of the Q-switched 1064-nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (QS 1064-nm Nd:YAG) laser for hair bleaching and to evaluate its concurrent effects on p

Efficacy of Itraconazole Pulse Therapy Versus Q-Switched Nd-YAG Laser Versus Combination of Both in the Treatment of Onychomycosis-A Single-Blind Randomized Control Trial.

BACKGROUND: Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nails. Oral itraconazole inhibits lanosterol-14α demethylase, impairing fungal cell membrane synthesis. The 1064 nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser produces photothermolytic and photomechanical effects on fungi. Since both act via different mechanisms, their combination may offer additive benefits. OBJECTIVES: To compare the efficacy of oral itraconazole pulse therapy, 1064 nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser therapy, and their combination in treating onychomycosis. METHODS: Ninety Potassium hydroxide(KOH) mount- and culture-positive patients were random

The Effectiveness of Early Treatment With Intense Pulsed Light Combined With Fractional Erbium Laser in Preventing Post-traumatic Hypertrophic Scar Formation.

BACKGROUND: Once scars form and begin to proliferate, treatment becomes challenging. Traditional methods of scar treatment often provide suboptimal results. Therefore, early intervention has become widely accepted, with a focus on prevention during the wound-healing phase rather than later treatment. Here, the authors evaluate the effectiveness of early treatment with intense pulsed light (IPL) combined with fractional erbium laser in preventing the formation of post-traumatic hypertrophic scars. METHODS: A total of 120 patients who underwent emergency cosmetic suture surgery for facial traum
