OBJECTIVE: To access the effectuveness of four different types of Chinese traditional Qigong exercises in the management of cervical spondylosis. METHODS: Observational studies published up to July 2024 were searched in online databases: China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Wanfang, China Science and Technology Journal Database, SinoMed, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Web of Science). The quality of the included randomized controlled trial (RCT) was evaluated using the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. A total of 623 studies were retrieved, of which 44 were considered eligible.

Use of Uterine Manipulators in Total Abdominal Hysterectomy: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

OBJECTIVE: Total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH) remains one of the most frequently performed gynecologic surgeries for benign uterine conditions. Adequate uterine mobilization and surgical exposure are crucial for ensuring procedural safety and efficiency. Uterine manipulators (UM), commonly used in laparoscopic hysterectomy, have been shown to facilitate uterine handling and improve surgical visualization. However, their potential benefits in TAH remain uncertain. The objective of this study was to investigate whether the advantages demonstrated with uterine manipulators in laparoscopic hystere

Recommendations to Standardize the Conduct of Clinical Trials Evaluating Novel Therapies for Perianal Fistulizing Crohn's Disease.

BACKGROUND & AIMS: Perianal fistulizing Crohn's disease (PFCD) is a potentially debilitating condition with few systematically evaluated treatment options. We aimed to develop expert recommendations to standardize study design and conduct of randomized controlled trials of medical therapy for patients with PFCD. METHODS: We utilized a RAND/UCLA appropriateness method to develop a framework for conducting randomized controlled trials of medical therapy in PFCD. An expert international panel of 15 gastroenterologists, radiologists, and colorectal surgeons rated the appropriateness of survey sta

Topical pharmacologic treatments for dry eye disease: A systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Topical pharmacologic treatments for dry eye disease (DED) address different aspects of tear film deficiency by decreasing ocular surface inflammation, stimulating mucin secretion, increasing tear production, or reducing excessive evaporation. This systematic review evaluated randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and prospective observational studies of topical ophthalmic medications for DED. METHODS: PubMed and Embase were searched from 1980 to February 2024. For studies meeting inclusion criteria, efficacy outcomes (signs and symptoms of DED) and adverse event data were extracted.

Disentangling preventive effects of differential exercise types on tension-type headache: a component network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

BACKGROUND: The effectiveness of exercise for tension-type headache (TTH) is unclear because of the complexity of exercise regimens-usually the combination of different types of exercise. We aimed to estimate the effectiveness of exercise for TTH and to test the incremental effect of each type of exercise by component network meta-analysis (CNMA). METHODS: We searched Ovid Medline, Embase, and the Cochrane Library from database inception to 25 December 2023, and a supplementary search was conducted on 10 February 2025. We included randomized controlled trials of exercise, including aerobic, r

Interventions for helping people recognise early signs of recurrence in bipolar disorder.

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the effectiveness of EWS plus TAU or EWS plus psychological therapy versus TAU alone or psychological treatment (without EWS) independently on time to recurrence of any bipolar episode and hospitalisation, and other clinically relevant outcome measures. To evaluate the effectiveness of intermittent medication used on recognition of EWS without continued mood-stabilising medication versus TAU involving continued mood-stabilising medication on time to recurrence of any bipolar episodes.

Factors influencing timeliness of reporting results from multiple sclerosis related clinical trials to ClinicalTrials.gov.

INTRODUCTION: Timely reporting of clinical trial results is both an ethical obligation and a legal requirement under Section 801 of the Food and Drug Administration Amendments Act (FDAAA). The law mandates that results from applicable clinical trials be submitted to ClinicalTrials.gov within 12 months of the study's primary completion date. We examined reporting compliance among multiple sclerosis (MS)-related randomized controlled trials registered on ClinicalTrials.gov. METHODS: Using a previously validated algorithm, we identified highly likely applicable clinical trials (HLACTs) related t

PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Embase/Ovid, CINAHL, CENTRAL, Web of Science and PEDro, а также в базах данных клинических производств.gov. Результаты поиска были ограничены исследованиями, опубликованными в перио

Influence of stress-specific interventions on biomarker levels and cognitive function in cancer patients: Systematic review and meta-analysis.

PURPOSE: Cancer patients' psycho-physiological health is seriously affected by long-term exposure to stress. Many studies have explored the impact of stress-specific interventions on cancer patients' biomarker levels and cognitive functions. However, the current research findings are inconsistent, and their statistical power is limited by the small samples. Therefore, we conducted this meta-analysis to verify the effect of stress-specific interventions on cancer patients. METHODS: The literature involved nine databases from the inception until January 13, 2024, extracted 19 randomized control
