From 1984 to 1994, 105 children with hypospadias were seen. Only 52 of them were treated. Hypospadias was distal (glandular subglandular or subcoronal hypospadias) in 38.4% of cases and involved the penile distal shaft or penile midshaft in 38.4% and posterior hypospadias in 23% of cases. Between February 1983 and February 1991, 471 blood cultures from newborns with neonatal infection, aged from 0 to 30 days, admitted to the Pediatric Hospital Albert Royer, Dakar, were performed. To determine the prevalence of tuberculosis and describe its epidemiological, clinical, paraclinical, and therapeutic characteristics and its outcome in patients with HIV. This retrospective, descriptive, and analytical study examined the records of patients with HIV at our outpatient treatment center and selected those who were antiretroviral-naive and presented tuberculosis between January 2008 and December 2012. Among a total of 757 HIV-positive patients, 76 had tuberculosis, for a prevalence of 10 %. The sex ratio of 1.23 favored men. The average age was 42.5 years (range: 25 to 69 years.

OBJECTIVES: To analyze the results of, and to evaluate, gynaecologic laparoscopy in Dakar Teaching Hospital.
METHODS: This exploratory and descriptive study deals with a continuous series of 128 gynaecologic laparoscopies carried out between January 1, 2006, and December 31, 2009. In each operative case, sociodemographic and clinical parameters,operative data, and outcomes were studied.

OBJECTIVE: The authors had for aim to evaluate the clinical and immunological response as well as the tolerance to antiretroviral therapy in HIV-2 infected patients.
DESIGN: A retrospective chart review was made from August 1998 to August 2004.
RESULTS: 188 patients were on protease inhibitor based regimen. 153 (81.38%) were HIV-1 and 35 (18.62%) HIV-2 infected patients. We reported 11 cases of crusted scabies observed during one year in our department. The mean age of the patients was 33 years with extremes at 14 and 49 years. The sex ratio was 1,2. HIV infection was the most common associated disease (45% of the patients). Ten patients had been treated with Ivermectin (200 micrograms/kg). The drug was efficient and well tolerated. For these reasons, we recommend to use Ivermectin as a drug of choice in the treatment of crusted scabies.

Between January 1991 and December 1996, 856 women had a tubal sterilization by minilaparotomy under local anesthesia in obstetric and gynaecologic clinic of University Teaching Hospital of Dakar. Among her 5 became pregnant after 7 to 54 months (mean 19 months). The failure rate is 5.84 per 1,000; all 5 women had intra-uterine pregnancy. The Churg and Strauss syndrome is a clinico-pathological entity clinically characterised by asthma gravis, systemic manifestations and hypereosinophilia. About one observation, authors set up the problem of the analogy existing between this syndrome and PAN and emphasized the possible role of hypereosinophilia in the ischemic neuropathy apparition. Between 1988 and 1992, 21 biopsies for pathological examination were taken from 20 Senegalese leprosy patients suffering from chronic plantar ulcers (CPU) suspected of malignant transformation. The diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma was effectively made in 13 cases and that of pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia in the remaining 8 cases.
