The crystallochemistry of and the bonding in the orthorhombic four-connected nets of BaIn(2) (CeCu(2) structure) and of CaPtSn (TiNiSi structure, a derivative of the CeCu(2) structure) are analyzed with approximate molecular orbital calculations. Duct cell adenocarcinomas may produce neuroendocrine markers such as pancreatic polypeptide, gastrin and gastrin releasing hormones. A 53 year old patient, with a history of insulin dependent diabetes, was found to have a pancreatic mass which was later pathologically demonstrated to be a duct cell adenocarcinoma. Twenty-five patients with functional dyspepsia and 11 healthy controls matched for age and sex were examined. The patients were divided into two groups: patients with dysmotility-like symptoms and those with ulcer-like symptoms. In a dual-tracer gastric emptying study, dysmotility-like and ulcer-like symptoms could not be distinguished from each other on the basis of gastric emptying times. The intragastric distribution and the solid lag time in dysmotility-like dyspepsia differed significantly from those of the controls.
