End-to-end proximal anastomosis is the sole modifiable variable in risk score for loss of patency of aortobifemoral artery bypass after index operative hospitalization.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to create a risk score for loss of aortobifemoral artery bypass (ABF) patency using preoperative, perioperative, and long-term follow-up (LTFU) variables in the Vascular Quality Initiative database. METHODS: The Vascular Quality Initiative suprainguinal arterial bypass module was queried from 2009 to 2025, and 4971 patients undergoing ABF had LTFU patency data and thus met inclusion criteria. These patients were then divided into a two-thirds testing cohort (N = 3364) and a one-third validation cohort (N = 1607), in which the risk score was evaluated.

Identification of MTMR2 as an AML-associated candidate biomarker derived from lipid metabolism-related transcriptomic analysis.

BACKGROUND: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a diverse malignant hematologic disorder with poor clinical outcomes. Increasing evidence suggests that metabolic reprogramming, particularly lipid metabolism, contributes to AML progression and may offer new opportunities for biomarker discovery and therapeutic targeting. However, lipid metabolism-related hub genes with diagnostic and prognostic relevance in AML have not been systematically characterized. METHODS: Expression profiles from GSE114868 and GSE9476 were analyzed to identify lipid metabolism-associated differentially expressed genes. Fun

Global whole-genome, phylodynamic, and machine-learning analysis of Glaesserella parasuis serovars 2, 5, and 12.

Glaesserella parasuis is a respiratory pathogen of swine and the causative agent of Glässer's disease. Among the 15 serotypes, serotypes 2, 5, and 12 represent globally disseminated, high-risk lineages characterized by increased virulence and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). To systematically investigate the global epidemiology and molecular basis of high-risk serotypes, we conducted a large-scale comparative genomic analysis. We assembled 1,004 G. parasuis genomes, including 102 newly sequenced isolates from diseased swine across 18 Chinese provinces and 902 publicly available genomes from 16

Computational Methods to Measure Patterns of Gaze in Toddlers With Autism Spectrum Disorder.

IMPORTANCE: Atypical eye gaze is an early-emerging symptom of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and holds promise for autism screening. Current eye-tracking methods are expensive and require special equipment and calibration. There is a need for scalable, feasible methods for measuring eye gaze. OBJECTIVE: Using computational methods based on computer vision analysis, we evaluated whether an app deployed on an iPhone or iPad that displayed strategically designed brief movies could elicit and quantify differences in eye-gaze patterns of toddlers with ASD vs typical development. DESIGN, SETTING,

Unsupervised phenotyping of the periodontal architecture through high-dimensional clustering of electronic health records: A multicenter study.

BACKGROUND: To identify novel periodontal phenotypes using unsupervised machine learning on a large-scale, multicenter cohort, specifically characterizing disease patterns based on the "periodontal architecture" of localized structural failures (tooth mobility and molar furcation defects) rather than global severity averages alone. METHODS: This cross-sectional study analyzed electronic health records from 15,723 adult patients with periodontitis. A high-dimensional feature vector (D = 72) was constructed for each patient, integrating tooth-specific ordinal grades for mobility and furcation,

Localization and anticipation of seizure onset and propagation using network architecture of pathological high-frequency oscillations.

OBJECTIVE: In focal epilepsies, seizures originate from a presumed seizure onset zone (SOZ) and propagate through a network of dynamically interconnected brain regions. Accurate identification of the SOZ and propagation pathways is critical for surgical planning in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. We tested the hypothesis that pathological high-frequency oscillation (pHFO) network properties can characterize seizure propagation at the individual-patient level. METHODS: We measured pHFOs (80-500 Hz) in >9000 channel-hours of intracranial electroencephalographic data recorded during early

Application research on surveillance and predictive modeling of respiratory diseases in Baise City based on meteorological big data analysis.

Respiratory diseases are increasingly influenced by meteorological variability, yet few studies have applied high-resolution environmental data and advanced forecasting models to quantify this relationship in climate-sensitive regions such as southern China. This study aims to characterize how climate variability drives respiratory disease dynamics by quantifying the influence of meteorological factors and constructing predictive models for early intervention. It further seeks to advance climate-resilient health surveillance through the application of machine learning and time-series forecasti

From gaze to proficiency: deep learning-driven prediction of novice performance in laparoscopic training using AOI-dependent metrics.

BACKGROUND: The fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery (FLS) program uses box trainers to develop laparoscopic skills. However, these simulators lack personalized training, real-time objective assessment, and primarily represent adult anatomies, neglecting pediatric cases. To address these limitations, advanced objective evaluations like motion analysis and eye-tracking are needed to track trainees' progress and provide real-time formative feedback. However, dynamic training environments challenge eye-tracking data extraction due to shifting areas of interest (AOI). This study aimed to extract A

Multiscale neural dynamics in sleep transition volatility across age scales: a multimodal EEG-EMG-EOG analysis of temazepam effects.

Recent advances in computational modeling techniques have facilitated a more nuanced understanding of sleep neural dynamics across the lifespan. In this study, we tensorize multiscale multimodal electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyogram (EMG), and electrooculogram (EOG) signals and apply Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) modeling to quantify interactions between age scales and the use of pharmacological sleep aids on sleep stage transitions. Our cohort consists of 22 subjects in a crossover design study, where each subject received both a sleep aid and a placeb
