We describe an unusual autopsy case of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma with massive cardiac involvement. A partial deficiency of cytochrome oxidase has been found in 7 patients with chronic progressive external ophthalmoplegia and proximal myopathy or craniosomatic abnormalities.
