INTRODUCTION: Allopurinol, widely used in the treatment of hyperuricemia and gout, has been shown to cause severe cutaneous reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, as well as systemic reactions such as DRESS (Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms).
