METHODS: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was performed according to PRISMA guidelines. Drospirenone (DRO) is one of the most widely used progestins in contraceptive treatments and hormone replacement therapies. However, with extended regimens, unscheduled intracycle bleeding can become problematic.
